The very tasty answer to the traditional onion cake
Onion tarte flambée “Maitre”

Ingredients for a tarte flambée:
- 1 tarte flambée base
- Approx. 100g Tarte Flambée Crème (or alternatively Crème fraîche with ourFlambée spice Maître Flambée Café de Strasbourgseasoned)
- 1 vegetable onion cut into fine rings
- Approx. 50g diced bacon
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp butter/oil
- Caraway as desired
- Freshly chopped parsley for garnishing after baking
In a shallow pan, heat a knob of butter and a little oil over medium heat. Add the onion rings, bacon, a pinch of salt, and a little caraway seeds, and sauté until the onions are translucent. Now let the onion-bacon mixture cool. Stir in theTarte flambée cream, the egg and the cooled onion-bacon mixture. Take aTarte flambée baseand cover it with the mixture. Leave a border of about 1 cm free. Bake the tarte flambée until lightly browned. Garnish with some parsley and caraway seeds. Traditionally, tarte flambée is served sliced on a wooden board.
