Tarte flambée Bienenstich

Ingredients for a tarte flambée:

Cream:

  • 300 ml milk
  • 100 ml cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 sachet of vanilla pudding powder

Tarte flambée:

  • 1 tarte flambée base
  • 70 g almonds, sliced
  • Liquid honey as desired
  • powdered sugar

Put the milk and cream in a saucepan with the honey, sugar and salt and heat the mixture while stirring. Mix the vanilla pudding powder with 3 tablespoons of milk until smooth and then add it to the saucepan little by little. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly and then remove from the heat. Take a tarte flambée base and spread it with the cream, leaving a border of about 1 cm free. Then sprinkle with the almonds. Drizzle the honey over the almonds and then dust the tarte flambée with icing sugar. Bake the tarte flambée until it is lightly browned. After baking, dust the tarte flambée again with icing sugar. Traditionally, tarte flambée is served cut into pieces on a wooden board.
