Flammkuchen dough ingredients

Our Flammkuchen dough is made according to an original recipe from the French Alsace region and contains no yeast, flavour enhancers or preservatives. We select only the necessary ingredients, which are always of the highest quality. The Flammkuchen bases contain flour (wheat, organic wheat or spelt), water, rapeseed oil and salt.

Our special production process guarantees even, wafer-thin dough pieces, as a result of which the finished Flammkuchen are beautifully crispy. Give it a try!

Flammkuchen dough with or without yeast

There are differing views and recipes when it comes to whether yeast should or should not be used in a Flammkuchen dough. The matter often comes down to personal taste. We at Flammkuchen24 are of the opinion that Flammkuchen dough without yeast produces a better Flammkuchen because this allows the dough base to crisp up while remaining light and easily digestible. This is why our Flammkuchen dough does not contain any yeast.

Choose between oval, round, rectangular or our rustic shapes – the latter has uneven edges as though it were homemade. We also offer our bases in the smaller “Midi” and “Petit” sizes. We package these up in practical quantities of 10, 15 or 20 dough pieces depending on the type. The individual bases are each separated by a Pergafin sheet. This prevents the dough bases from sticking together.

Our premium wheat Flammkuchen bases have fantastic baking characteristics. They are superlatively thin, which in turn makes them unmistakably crispy and crunchy.

The wheat for our tasty bases is mostly grown in the French region of Alsace, the home of the Flammkuchen.

In this age of nutritional awareness, spelt flour is becoming increasingly important for baked products. Its slightly nutty flavour is what makes spelt stand out. In recent years, health-conscious people who still want to enjoy good food have focussed more and more on this grain. Spelt is often used by people with an intolerance to wheat because it is easier to digest. However, spelt still contains gluten and is therefore not suitable for people with a gluten intolerance or Coeliac disease. Our spelt-flour Flammkuchen bases bake exceptionally well and are just as versatile as our wheat bases. Why not give them a try?

We also offer a certified organic version of our crispy, delicious dough bases. They are made using organically grown wheat, water, organic rapeseed oil and salt and packed in packaging gas. The relevant certification body is DE-ÖKO-006, by whom we are inspected and monitored on an annual basis to ensure that we comply with all the required standards.
